ABEL PRODUCTS HONORED BY IGFA, SPORTING CLASSICS


           CAMARILLO, Calif. – Abel Quality Products was honored by both Sporting Classics magazine and the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), announced the fishing tackle manufacturer.
          Abel received the 2004 Award of Excellence from Sporting Classics and was second in the greatest number of IGFA flyrod and reel World Records Achievement Awards for 2004.
          The Sporting Classics Award of Excellence is given “. . . to these craftsmen, manufacturers and retailers who do their level best to provide everything we need to pursue our passions, from shotguns to fly reels . . .” The award, a 14-inch tall engraved crystal obelisk, was presented by Sporting Classics editor-in-chief Chuck Wechsler.
          The IGFA award will be presented at the organization’s museum and hall of fame in Dania Beach, Florida on April 9. The award will be handed to Abel sales representative Don R. Swanson by George Poveromo, television host of “World of Saltwater Fishing.”
          “These awards are on behalf our employees and our nearly 400 authorized dealers worldwide,” said company president Steve Abel. “We accept both of them with great humility and thank the thousands upon thousands of fly-fishers who put their trust in Abel Quality Products,” he said.
