     Steve Abel is first, foremost and forever a fisherman. But he also plays golf. For years he could hit the ball a ton, but when it came to the greens, he took his lumps. One night, after a particularly disastrous 18 holes, he retired to the shop and considered the putt. And considered the putt . . . and considered the putt . . . and solved the problems!

Why is the putt so difficult? After all, the golf ball is dead still and clearly visible on a beautifully manicured green . . . both the   object and the target are in plain sight.

Because of five mechanical problems:

1. The feel or balance of the club in your hands;

2. Alignment of the putter blade at the moment of address;

3. Torque of the putter head at impact;

4. The way the ball comes off the putter face, i.e., the way the ball rolls after impact; and

5. Speed of the green.

Here's how the Abel Precision Putter solves these five putting problems:

When the amount of weight and position are changed before the start of the round, you will have effectively created a custom putter -- unique to you -- based on course conditions and giving you the feel and balance you need. If the greens are slow, add the heavier weight or both weights. If the greens are bullet-fast, use only the smaller weight or none.

For tournament play, remove the thumb screw and lock in the weight with the hex set screw. Be certain to lock the weight securely into the desired position and store your hex wrench in your bag prior to the start of play.

TORQUE

The Abel Precision Putter design incorporates a large diameter Fat Boy shaft perfectly placed on a precision machined balanced aluminum head. The combination of the large shaft and face-balanced club head maximally eliminates torque of the putter face at impact. In addition, the putter head has a symmetrical weight distribution which guarantees maximum on-line delivery of the putter head with each stroke.

The Fat Boy shaft has the comfortable flex of old bamboo shafts, meaning the club head stays in contact with the ball longer. That gets the ball rolling faster and truer. It's a fact: Less skid = more roll.

The 0-degree loft machined into the putter face, the balance point and other factors also eliminate skidding. There is no skipping, stuttering or sliding. You get a true and accurate roll immediately. And the soft aluminum head provides the feel you've searched for.

GREEN SPEED

The speed of greens is a problem for all golfers from day to day, season to season, course to course. The Abel Precision Putter solves the problem with the changeable brass weights, creating what is, in essence, a Custom Putter matched to you, the day, the course and the conditions.

Here you have it: The Abel Precision Putter -- designed utilizing 6061-T aircraft quality aluminum, machined on CNC computer-controlled mills. It is a putter that gives you all the mechanical advantages to produce Abel Perfect Pendulum Strokes.

I have won numerous tournaments from my days as a Junior to my current Senior status. I have never seen or used a putter that did as much for the average golfer. Had this been around 30 years ago, I might have turned pro!
